Why can’t I see my profile, when I select “Browse Artists?”
When you select “Browse Artists” you can only see the profiles of artists who have uploaded material.
Can I upload my own materials, even if I don’t want to sell them?
When you select the link "My Preferences" or "Your material, Manage CDs" you have the option to select whether you wish to sell your materials or not.
If I decide to sell my materials, why do I have to chose between the three options offered on the site?
There are two basic reasons why you will have to choose one of the
three options. The first reason being that every material you wish to sell has to be accessible to the public on a financial aspect. The second reason being that we are trying to give a unisons to all the materials on the website so we can maintain control and proper management of the expenses that occur with each transaction, credit cards etc.
Is it required for me to purchase the special offer packet that
NOOTROPIA ART offers so that I can upload my materials?
Of course not. Access to the site and uploading of any
materials is absolutely free. The special offer packet, which is not
mandatory, provides some important guidelines for the creation of a
more professional profile.
Why do I have to provide my real name and, in general, my real
identifying information when I register on the site?
It’s quite simple. N.A.P. needs your real identifying information
so that we may contact you to inform you of any updates that may assist you,
to send you payments from on-line sales that you may have, and mostly to maintain a personal relationship with you so that you may have the potential to be part of the future plans of the site on an international level. It is also very important for you to know that N.A.P. maintains the right and the obligation to safeguard all the privileged information of its members. Under no circumstances will this information be distributed to third parties, or any other company. Your information will remain confidential.
What does NOOTROPIA ART PRODUCTION do exactly? What is its role? Do the artists give a percentage to NAP?
NAP is an artistic company, which focuses its interest mainly on new and even unknown artists from any type of art and from all over the world. The purpose of NAP is to promote new artists to main stream, without taking advantage of them and without asking or demanding a percentage from the artist’s sales. NAP gives the artist the power to select their own management and their own promotion strategies. We do not bind any artist with a contract and we also do not operate as tax collectors. NAP has been created by artists who have exceptional knowledge of the troubling issues that a struggling artist is faced with and that is its reason for creation and being. NAP does not discriminate against known artists, and does not also discriminate against any racial, religious, political or any other personal beliefs. NAP’s purpose is to gather artists from all aspects of art and from all over the world and to promote their materials in an exceptional way so that the artist is given a chance to conquer the audiences without any contracts and limits.
How does NAP cover its expenses? How can they promote an artist
and not ask for a percentage of the sales?
NAP has as its main goal to promote struggling artists. It was created and is run by artists, every one of its services is offered by artists. This means that the members of NAP have an excellent knowledge of the struggles that a new artist faces. Furthermore, it is a known fact that every company should be represented by one or more legal advisors on artistic matters, who are fully familiar with the subject, as well as a staff that possess another basic aspect of the art world, which is the promotion and management of the company. And this brings us to another valid question. How does everyone get paid? Every staff member at NAP or any collaborator has either a commission or a set salary. NAP has devised its own prototype of work planning which enables it to have a full staff at its disposal. The main income of the company comes from advertisements, donations, and percentages from artists’ sales who have specifically asked NAP to represent them. Also, from many collaborations and agreements on an international level and artistic publishing, property of NAP.
How safe is it for me to upload my materials on the site, even disclose my personal information?
The NAP website is very safe and secure. Under no circumstances will any of the personal info be relayed to any other parties. Credit card transactions are also as secure. This is certified by not only NAP but also by the company which handles all international transactions as well as all credit card transactions Authorize.net.
Are there any future plans that NAP has coming up in the near
future, besides the current projects?
NAP has many remarkable projects in the works, many of them with surprising results that will revolve around artists from every facet of art. Members of NAP will be updated, in regular intervals, on the progress of each project. The involvement of NAP in the international scene offers artists new ideas of thinking from around the world, and of course to any member of NAP.
Will the artists be charged for any new services that NAP has to offer?
The main purpose of NAP is for the artist not to incur any further charges. The staff at NAP is closely weighing every new move, so as to avoid any further costs to its members. In the event that a new service has to carry some sort of charge, then NAP will include this service in its promotional packages at cost.
Why do I have to pay a fee of $30 if I want to show my materials on
the site, although I have a contract with another company?
NAP was created to promote new and unknown artists. This means that one of the goals is to bring new artists and companies together in agreement. Up until that moment, the materials that the artist is presenting on the NAP website are entirely his/hers and he/she has the exclusive rights for those materials. From the moment, though, that a company comes into agreement with an artist about the materials this means that 98% of the time the artist is not the only one with rights on those materials. Based on the international law, no one is allowed to handle these materials unless the artist claims responsibility for them. Symbolically, NAP charges a fee of $30 for registration to verify that the artist claims responsibility for the uploaded material.
What happens if a certain company protests the right to some of the
materials that I upload on the website?
NAP is not responsible for claims made against the artist on the rights of the materials uploaded on the website. The artist is solely responsible for the artistic rights on any material uploaded. NAP will not disclose, under any circumstances, information on any of its members even if asked by any other company. NAP is not bound by law to provide information on any of its members that uploads material on the website. It is the responsibility of the company that is making the claim to track down the user utilizing its own methods. NAP members are safe and do not run the risk of having their personal info distributed to any other company or media.
I don’t have the capability to upload my materials for various reasons. What options do I have?
NAP is aware of this problem and is currently working on a new service that will enable an artist to upload his/her material on to the website. This service will guide the artist step by step on how to upload their materials and, in general, how to create a webpage.
Can I create my webpage in my own language and/or dialect?
Of course. Every member of this website (Artists, Classic users, Poster events) can use his/her own language to upload anything. Furthermore, the artist has the capability to translate the webpage in any other language. In this case, every translation the artist chooses to utilize will not entitle them to a new webpage, but instead will provide additional space in the original page for the new translation.
How can I create separate web pages for the different languages, so
that my profile looks more professional?
Shortly, NAP will introduce this new service in which the artist will be able to have separate web pages in any language the artist requests besides the original language in the web page. This is another exceptional service provided by NAP to expose the artist to other cultures and possibilities. Information will follow on how this particular service will take place.
